AB Klaipėdos kartonas, managed by investment company Avestis, has acquired the majority ownership of corrugated cardboard and its packaging production company NB-Mena. The new purchase marks the beginning of larger steps in the Ukraine market.

On October 19, while carrying the planned preventive repair JSC "Klaipėdos kartonas" the accident, during which the waste-water spilled, happened on the line of pumping sewage into cleaning equipment. The accident was rapidly liquidated and Smeltalės creek was not polluted.

In the beginning of the next year, the investment company "Avestis" which manages the JSC "Klaipėdos kartonas" plans to start the production of a new product - honeycomb cardboard. This week the company signed a contract of bying American equipment, by which the production will be made, which is used more in furniture industry.

JSC “Klaipėdos kartonas" started producing a new product – the cardboard, which is used in gypsum board production. The company will make the new product less depending on the changes in the corrugated cardboard market.

The largest in the Baltic states cardboard production and paper package processing JSC "Klaipėdos kartonas” installed the new equipments, which will allow to almost fully eliminate exuding the smell during the production process.  This year the company will spend about 0,5 million Lt. on this.
